About Us

Hi,

My name is Joe Guimaraes and, since 1997, I am a full-time professional swing set installer, working in New Jersey, New York City and suburbs, parts of Connecticut, and eastern Pennsylvania areas (north of Philadelphia).

I have assembled more than 4000 sets in the past 19 years, eight of them working as a contractor for one of the country’s biggest residential play equipment manufacturer. I made a few mistakes when I first started installing swing sets and at times I was overwhelmed myself as the sets got bigger and more complicated with multi-levels, spiral tube slides, bridges, etc. Today I am very confident and if you decide to hire me, when I knock on your door, I will bring you the assurance and expertise that your swing set will be installed in a proper and safer way.

In the spring of 2005 I decided to quit working as a sub-contractor exclusively for a Rainbow Play Systems distributor in the Tri-state area and start offering my services for private owners and other companies as well. It was a great experience!

I was primarily writing ads on sites like Craigslist and other free ads websites and was getting a fair volume of calls and I was getting busy and busier for the next two years.
In the fall of 2007, I decided to launch my own website to make it easier for possible customers to find and reach me. A kind of resume website where I could show my work over the years. Then, Swingsetbuilders.com was born and for the next three years I was on the top of the search engine sites since there was not a lot of competitors online.

At the end of 2015, I found myself behind the competition on the search engines and I decided to redesign the whole site because it was lacking a more modern look and to make it more responsive for a better experience in all types and sizes of screens from regular desktop/ laptop computers to all the mobile devices such as tablets and smart phones. A site where people could interact, give they opinion and ask questions concerning their swing sets and the safety of their children.

Remember, experience is not expensive; it’s priceless.
